Reasons to Celebrate

So the past 2 weeks of my life have been rather uhh how shall I put it, insane (bipolar and manic depressive). I had this crush on this girl who turned out to be insane (bipolar and manic depressive) and I went to visit her in hospital and she wants me to fetch her tomorrow so we can go out and I’m not entirely sure how to say no (it is a problem I am working on in my life) and I don’t actually want to see her to be honest.

But yeh, I will figure that one out as I go along.

But his week is a fantastic week to celebrate like everything. Here is my list:

1 I won sole custody of my son! – glee - I am officially a single parent in the eyes of the law, custody and all things included
2 I hooked up a date. I HAVE A DATE! It’s the first time in like a year I am going on a one on one adult date with a girl I am interested in
3 I have legally had my license for 6 years
4 Paula has a new crush ;)
5 My parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary
6 Jonathan (my son) is Spongebob Squarepants in his school play
7 And work is good, it’s crazy and busy and all those delicious things, but it is good.
8 Payday Friday! (I worked a shit load of overtime last month so it’s gonna be a juicy one – glee - )
9 I’m getting my next tattoo, possibly another piercing on Saturday
10 Tegan and Sara are releasing their new album next week Tuesday and the new single – hell – is AWESOME!!!


So let’s celebrate as best we know, tequila and a random dance at CCHQon Thursday.

I've been doing it all week with my friends and I would have scanned some of my own work; except I am at school and can't find the scanner anywhere.

I've got a hero(ine)

My Desktop Currently

I have a hero(ine)... finally... someone who I look up to for one aspect of my being. Its a girl whose fantastic! I'm a bit embarrassed to say who she is because she is so normal. I know thats weird because I've lived thus far without a hero.

Its just I never really saw anyone who I thought was what I wanted.

And then I found Effie who is everything I think of, just different... and I feel like I have to accept that my hero and I are going to be subtlety different because we are different people.

But she is the living the life I want. Maybe a little different, but close enough to be amazed by it. She's inspiring and ... I'm really amazed by it all really, it came after saying that I haven't got someone ... ON TAPE.

Kim Hates This Hat

-  Well, this week I miss my blog buddy Kim who I met up on Tuesday last week, with Shaan her brother. It's been rough ever since and I miss her sigh face- there's always some depth to it. I imagine her having it a lot

-  I am SO busy the moment. I have 1 portfolio. 1 diary. 1 test. 1 article to write. 1 creative development project to write. 1 Critical studies 2-part assignment. 1 article to submit for Laugh It Off Annual 4 (non-related to the aforementioned article).

-  I'm secretly enjoying the stress that surrounds me I find it peaceful, like the realities of my dream are SO nice.

-  Oh I forgot to tell you about my dream of submitting and how the Laugh It Off Annual thing was really just so that I could get the ball rolling. I was SO not thinking they would accept my work because it literally is just one sentence- but its more of a conceptual piece than it was about the writing. But they did!

-  I am SO proud of myself :)

-  Now for the 40 word bio- I want it to be unrelated to me somehow but still me. I was thinking of submitting my haiku (Diva: A female hustler, Attention grabbing bee-yotch, Sensitive Artist)... but I don't know. It's all so exciting for me.

-  Now I've been asked to write a longer piece. And I am SO excited about it. :D

-  ERGH! You can see summer is here by the way I am getting almost TOO dark. My mom's making me carry shawls and hats to school

-  its SO sweet to be living with my mom. Like there are SO many things I didn't realize my mother missed about being my mother.

-  I'm prone to random acts of pure stupidity- which really is a part of my charm.

-  I'm dying to try my hand at Illustrations and then the transference thereof into Photoshop so any of you honies out there looking to be illustrated-  GIVE ME A SHOUT!

-  I've illustrated myself a lot and I like what I'm doing so far. SO cute!

-  I just need to transfer to digital and I'm getting Chris to show me how. Chris is awesome.

-  We've been riding home a lot these passed few weeks. Laughing the whole way. He's a rad guy.

-  Well, my Noo is over that trip of his and we have spent the past two weeks bonding and following each other around the school. We realise its sixties but its been sweeet. I even gave him a new nickname to commemorate it- its Noosh now (don't emphasize the o's- say the o's like the "U" in push).

-  I am SO thinking about changing the layout. again. I really am crazy about this thing. For real.

It's been a while. I'm just REALLY busy at the moment.

Its portfolio time at school and we're just handing in our Copywriting portfolios. I am rather chuffed about the way mine is turning out. We've given our portfolios a personality and I chose a diva; but we weren't allowed to use any stars (as in the shape) so I went for something WAY cuter: A geisha.

Here she is- by Tokyo Candies on deviant art but I'm still reworking her so that it becomes my own. Because like a diva a geisha has a bad rap but essentially what she is is an artist.

Some of my copy work: Links to original pictures attached. Copy is about the writing- so we can steal pictures so long as we acknowledge who did it first.

This is normal print advertising. I tried as far as possible to make the picture look hand drawn with livetrace, then I used an organic (hand drawn) looking font. In this as I'm advertising Waterless Hand Cleanser but also selling the brand by making it seem like a healthy brand.

In this one we were told to write an in-house manifesto about the company. We had to look up the brand and find its essence and think from that perspective. Looking back I don't know why I found it to be such a big task.

I'm also in the middle of a case study about how I interact with my body which is SO mind opening because I don't know... I didn't realise how much I accomodate it and the way I actually felt about it. More on this later. Much work to do. I spent a good three hours commenting on all my usual blogs today so I'm really happy about that too. I have a few more to go...

bore, bore and funny galore

I have been bored mostly this week.

For no apparent reason other than I haven't really gotten up to no good.

It's a trivial thing my hunger for naughtiness. An, at times, insatiable thirst that I am SO desperate to fill that I... can't really find anything that's naughty enough to do.

At the moment its because I'm tired of the other things I used to do with my naughtiness.

It's like I'm waiting for naughtiness to come to me.

So... yeah. I've been bored.

But my friends at school and I came up with some new lingo; so I will in turn, spread my germs of wisdom:


Boing A boy or girl that is your crush of the moment.
How it is used: When one of our crushes/ flavours of the moment enter the room/ cafeteria; whoever spots the person says "Boing!" It is also used in converstaions where the name of the person isn't allowed to be said. Eg "Guys, I say my boing today, so happy!" and when there is a potential new crush and we pass him in a passage/at a bar we say "boing! boing! boing!" like a red alert.

Tswibi A boy or girl who is nasty (not good looking)
How it is used: When we are refering to someone in conversation. Or someone enters a room and they are not good looking (it refers to dress sense as well) we say "Tswibi." 

And this whole week we've literally only been singing one line from one song "Jizz in my pants" which isn't exactly a good song to have stuck in your head because... well... what it refers to is quite perturbing, but we've excused ourselves because we're girls singing it.

PS  Please don't be offended that I am not commenting on your blogs as I normally do. I am reading them; it's just commenting is my current issue because I follow about 35-45 blogs (some seen and unseen) and I often just read them and comment when the need is strong. I wish I could @... reply. It makes life so much easier.

PPS The dude in the picture is a friend Chris; who abducts my laptop and puts pictures of himself as my desktop. I think he was inspired by this other picture I put on my desktop and decided he should be a common feature. He's fun like that. (... he's not Fee... or Noo)

I'm going to do a desktop post... so that I can show you some of my just-for-fun work.

He (Chris) and I are both hoping to specialize in Multimedia Design (and I'm also leaning on Copywriting). He's WAY better then me because he sits and does tutorials when I go drinking next door; but I'm slowly getting into the rhythm of chilling with him doing tutorials. Hopefully sometime next week I'll ask him if I can post some of his work.

There's this one pic in particular that is genius. I love it.

I'm SO whipping his ass in Flash though. :P
